Advantages

The sealing performance of dual cone seal is stable, reliable, and long life; the working parameter range of the seal is wide (working pressure can reach 30 MPa, working temperature is -100~200℃); it is particularly suitable for sealing gas media in centrifugal compressors, and can also achieve no leakage to the atmospheric environment, suitable for sealing flammable, explosive, toxic, and precious gas media. The disadvantage is that the floating ring processing requirements are high.

Application

Duo cone seals are often used in planetary reducers in the walking part of engineering machinery to seal the end face of the component dynamically. Due to its high reliability, it has also been used as a dynamic seal for the output shaft of the bucket wheel of dredgers in recent years.

It comprises a floating ring made of ferroalloy material and a matching NBR rubber or FKM rubber O-ring. The floating rings are used in pairs; one rotates with the rotating parts, and the other is relatively stationary. It is most commonly used in engineering machinery and widely used in various conveyors, sand processing equipment, and concrete equipment. Seal gp duo cone is mainly used in the sprockets, reducers of scraper conveyors, and the transmission mechanism, rocker arms, and rollers of coal mining machines in coal mining machinery. Sealing Principle

The two floating rings rely on the deformation of the O-ring after axial compression to generate a clamping force on the sealing end face of the floating ring. With the uniform wear of the sealing end face, the elastic energy stored by the O-ring is gradually released, thereby playing an axial compensation role. The sealing surface can maintain a good fit within the set time, and the general sealing life is more than 4000 hours.

There is a particular gap between the floating ring and the rotating shaft. It can float freely but cannot rotate with the rotating shaft. It can only slide and float radially and maintain a certain eccentricity with the center of the shaft under the action of gravity. When the dual cone seal, the sealing liquid (usually oil) is input from outside the floating oil seal to form an oil film in the gap between the rotating shaft and the floating ring.

Due to the action of the oil wedge power generated when the shaft rotates, a certain oil film pressure is maintained in the oil film so that the floating ring can automatically maintain “centering” with the center of the shaft, thereby significantly reducing the gap and seal gp duo cone effectively realizing the sealing of fluid medium leakage.
